School CLOSURE during Covid-19 Announcements
New packets are out. Be sure to check Google Classroom for helpful PowerPoints or videos. Infinite Campus is updated so see how you are doing by checking my comments! If you haven't heard from me yet, hopefully you will be getting your postcard soon!
Check out this new video from Bonner Staff, letting you know we miss you! If you haven't gotten a phone call from me yet (or haven't seen me on Zoom) then look out for my phone call sometime this week! I want you to have opportunities to learn new things, but most importantly, I want you to know that you matter!
Yesterday I rode the Simba bus route. It was great to see students and families! In yesterday's packet, my cover letter for all the grades talked about how my work should not be a source of stress. If it is, then you have a few options: 1) put it away and decide that right now, this is not the time in your life to be doing this kind of thing - watch one of my videos or play one of my video games 2) email me for help, I'll call! 3) go to Google Classroom and watch my "tips" videos, where I walk you through the week's assignment.
Make sure you read my previous announcements below from March 30. Remember to use Google Classroom if that is a possibility instead of the physical packet (unless you prefer the physical packet)! Codes for each grade are provided in the packets that go out on Wednesdays.
Hello, Bonner Students and Parents! I miss you and wish we could be together in person right now.
What a strange and historical moment we are all trying to get through day by day. History is the study of the slow change over time versus the BIG MOMENTS that seemed to reshape society quite suddenly. We are now living in one of those big moments. I know there is so much to process, deal with, and think about. Hopefully by now you have gotten some "packets" or work from your Bonner School teachers. So let's be clear about a few things:
1) I'm not looking to "pile on" work for you. This is a stressful time. Do what you can when you can, and make sure you are prioritizing things that matter: health, safety, and family.
2) I know a lot of you still want to learn and see classmates, despite not being in a school building. I am going to offer multiple ways of making that possible. Stay tuned!
3) Don't worry about letter grades. Right now, I want to know if you are still growing as a human being and if your mind is still open to new ideas in these crazy times. Do your best on what work you do and I will let you know areas of growth or concern; at the very least, try to not to go backward in your skills!
4) Use my newly revamped website! Click on the distance learning tab uptop. Somethings are still "under construction," but that is where you'll find map games, fun articles full of social studies data, and amazing pictures of our world. Also, take a second to watch the video below on why I'm still talking about "growth" despite being out of school. And don't forget this very useful map on the spread of COVID-19:

We Miss you!
